You would be surprised as to the types of emails we receive from our visitors. Everything from tracking down people using illicit methods, to clients requesting outright illegal activities.

This is not a fault from our website visitors. When they don’t know the laws surrounding their request, or when they are misguided by a television show, it’s normal for them to ask us these types of requests. Resisting that urge of wanting to hack an email or tracing a cell phone is difficult, mainly because the people submitting the request are going through an extremely emotional issue.

In the section below, I’ve added a few of the requests we’ve received over the last few years.

  • I suspect my husband is having an affair, can I bring you his cell phone while he’s sleeping so you can hack it? No, this is illegal in the United States. Even law enforcement require warrants to access their devices.
  • I think my husband is having an affair with someone at work, can you show me how to hack into his email address? Not only is this also illegal, but it’s unethical. You would also be violating computer crimes that could land both of us in jail for a very long time. Here is a great article on the laws surrounding email hacking: Email hacking is a serious crime.
  • I know my husband’s password, can you use it to set up a sting operation? No, this is also illegal. As a matter of fact, this same thing happened to a man in Michigan who was being charged with 5 years in prison for using his wife’s password to see if she was having an affair. Checkout this story.
  • Can you recommend a tracking app that I can install on my wife’s phone to see where she goes? While this is something you will find on the app store already, how you use it can land you in jail time as well. We do NOT make any recommendations outside of saying – DO. NOT. DO. THIS.
  • Is there a way to “clone” my wife’s phone so I can hear in on her conversations? No, and this TOO is highly illegal with wiretapping laws. It is illegal to install spy software that in any way records, tracks, forwards, etc. phone calls or text messages on someone’s phone without their permission. Installing spy software could be a felony.

The bottom line is this – tracking cell phones and hacking into emails or personal devices is illegal. It’s true that information is everywhere, but taking the information using unethical methods can land both – you and me – in Jail.

Hacking into a phone can land you in 20+ years in a federal prison. The laws will vary state by state, but you can find many of the laws for your significant state here: https://statelaws.findlaw.com/criminal-laws/computer-crimes.html
